Know what happens to your source and podcast.
PODIFY separates temporary source processing from the generated script and audio kept in your private account.
PODIFY data handling summary
Processed, not retained
Uploaded documents and pasted source text are processed to create the script and are not stored after the request.
Saved to your account
The generated script, episode details, and audio are stored so you can return to them in Studio.
Account-scoped playback
Podcast records are checked against the signed-in user, and stored audio is delivered through a short-lived link.
Each service has a specific job.
- Clerk provides account authentication.
- SCANIFY performs OCR over a private authenticated connection when an uploaded PDF has no usable embedded text; it returns recognized text without retaining the source PDF.
- OpenAI processes source text and direction to generate the script.
- Speechify processes the script to create narration.
- Cloudflare R2 stores generated audio.
- Railway provides application hosting and database infrastructure.
Controls in the product
- Documents are limited to PDF, TXT, or DOCX files up to 8 MB.
- Image-only scanned PDFs are limited to 10 pages for OCR.
- Extracted or pasted source text is capped at 25,000 characters.
- Database lookups and audio access are scoped to the authenticated PODIFY user.
- Original source documents are not written to PODIFY or SCANIFY object storage.
- Account deletion removes active podcast records, stored audio, and the PODIFY Clerk account.
Your part
Only submit material you are authorized to process. Follow workplace, school, confidentiality, privacy, and records-handling rules before uploading sensitive information.
Review scripts and audio before relying on them. Security controls protect access to the service; they do not make AI-generated content automatically accurate.
Delete your PODIFY data
Use “Delete account and data” in Studio to permanently delete the account and its active PODIFY records and stored audio.
